The Channel Master CM-7000 PAL Digital Video Recorder has a great reputation and is well known in the industry for being one of the forerunners when it comes to OTA DVR quality. This ATSC DVR is one of the top-of-the-line video recorders for over the air TV. Channel master has been in the A/V industry for a long time. As and A/V technician myself I spent years installing channel master DVR's in high-end homes that had video surveillance camera systems.

It had years to perfect the remote which you will know when you buy one is very intuitive and awesome remote in general. The channel master DVR is the favorite of many many people including people like myself who know the brand from other places. This unit is a very popular TiVo alternative when looking for an over the air DVR. It's price point is competitive and the quality of the unit is unsurpassed. The Channel Master CM-7000 PAL DVR is a high-quality unit as you can see. It rivals the TiVo and performance and functionality. It is much better than some of the other over the air DVR so you can find on the Internet and elsewhere. As far as a good middle-of-the-road high-quality model goes, it would be hard to find a better one than the channel master model. The channel master is a great dual tuner DVR also known as it DTV PAL DVR. This product is highly recommended by myself and many others like me.

This product has a host of good features but is quite a bit wider scope than the channel master and maybe not specialized that what it does. Whenever you introduce an all-in-one box you can be sure that some corners are being cut. The biggest competitor to the channel master is obviously the Tivo Premiere TCD746320, which has the big TiVo name behind it and millions of dollars to promote it. Now whether or not these two products can fight hand-in-hand Mono on Mono I am not sure. I know that the channel master has raving fans and as far as being a DVR is unrivaled in my opinion.
